Every year at this time we like to reflect on the best Super Bowl ads of the past. We can’t help it if we get a little excited to see what the big brands have up their sleeves. Check out some of our favorite spots from prior years!
‘Reebok’s Terry Tate: Office Linebacker’. This Reebok ad spawned an entire series of short sketches on YouTube that turned out funnier than most professional sketch comedy shows.
‘Apple’s 1984 ad.’ In a rare serious but effective Super Bowl spot, this Apple ad heralds the release of the Macintosh computer. You could watch this ad on an iPhone and realize how far Apple (and technology in general) has come.
‘E-Trade baby.’ Comedian Pete Holmes lent his voice to the talking E-Trade baby, which is still an ad campaign today, three years later.
‘Monster.com’s When I Grow Up’. This effective ad was both funny and bittersweet, encouraging people to laugh but at the same time examine their current job position.
‘Volkswagen’s Use The Force.‘ Volkswagen likely paid a pretty penny for licensing ‘Star Wars’, but this ad was the high spot of the 2011 Super Bowl.
